An experimental organ combining mechanisms borrowed from deep-sea organisms was created to search for ways of existence beyond human perception. During the experiment, it became impossible to tell whether the organ was discovering them or creating them. The worlds it produces are unstable. They appear only partially, constantly fall apart, come together again, and never become complete.
