Name: Lena Bedareva
Born — Location: Russia — Georgia
In March 2022, I left Russia for Turkey, trying to escape reality, but never found a sense of home. That period of depression became a turning point: I left my IT job and began searching for myself through art. Moving to Georgia in 2024 brought love for the country, but not a sense of home. These changes unsettle me but reveal new sides of my personality and give me strength for transformation.
I perceive death as part of a cycle: something ends to give way to something new. This is particularly tied to my experience of emigration, as each move requires a kind of "death": parts of yourself must dissolve to be reborn in a new context. Accepting the fear of death (both physical and metaphorical) can become a powerful source of strength and inspiration for these changes.
