Flickering Parliament
About the project
Flickering Parliament is a program to control the pirates-nomads, on whose flags flashes the face of death - emotionally unstable Roger. The idea of parliament is that each of us is a bearer of a personal anarchic utopia, driven by the instant impulses of our animal emotions in the face of death. The average emotion of all participants is a consensus emotion of parliament.

During the session, participants observe their emotions through neural interfaces. Emotions are displayed on a flag, covered with white noise, in the form of variations "Jolly Roger". The image on the flag is also filled with white noise and becomes visible only when changing the parameters of the noise, which change depending on the emotional state.

About the artist
Name: Valery Belov
Born — Location: Russia — Georgia

I ran away from home when I turned 18. I ran away from the country when I was 40. I lived in Russia and now live in Georgia. I wanted it to be my choice, but I did so under the weight of circumstances.
Non-institutional artist. I prefer to find myself in the intersections of artistic disciplines. Art for me is a way of inventing everyday life.

Death is what exists beyond life. Death exists for no one, it is not necessary to desire it, it is promised to everyone. For death we are all equal. Everything living is controlled by the fear of death. Death is the sister of chaos. Death has no limits. Death is impossible to comprehend. We were all dead once, but we don’t remember it.
